Register with your e-mail address and a password and confirm the e-mail. In the dashboard you create your first brand, usually the name of the winery. Every e-label belongs to a brand. Brands can be renamed at any time. Without a plan you can create one brand and up to three e-labels as drafts and preview them.
Under “Create e-label” you enter the details: the wine’s name without the brand name, vintage or “no vintage”, grape variety, taste, country, lot number, volume in ml and the date of measurement. A bottle image is optional. You can save at any time; the e-label only becomes visible once you activate it.
Choose ingredients from the categories raw materials, enrichment, dosage, alcohol, preservatives, acidity regulators, stabilisers, packaging gases, spirits and other. Allergens such as sulphites, milk and egg products are highlighted on the e-label. Wein QR translates everything into all 24 languages.
In “Automatic” mode you enter alcohol in percent plus sugar, glycerol and acids in grams per litre. Wein QR calculates energy in kJ and kcal, carbohydrates and sugar per 100 ml following the EU formulas. If you have lab values, choose “Manual” and enter all values yourself.
For each packaging part, such as bottle, cork, capsule, muselet, label or gift box, you pick the material: glass, metal, paper, plastic, textile, biomatter or composite. Up to 15 entries per e-label. The information appears in the reader’s language.
Choose “Duplicate” in the e-label’s menu. Wein QR creates a draft copy with all details and the bottle image. Adjust the vintage, analysis values and nutrition values, then activate the copy. It gets its own QR code, and the previous e-label stays unchanged for the bottles already on the market. The copy counts towards your label limit.
Activate the e-label once the information is complete. Activating it and downloading the QR code require a plan. From the label’s menu, download the QR code as SVG or EPS for print and as PNG for screens and previews. The QR code stays the same even if you change the information later.
Use the vector file (SVG or EPS) for the label so the code stays sharp at any size. Plan at least 15 mm edge length and a light margin, and print dark on light. Test the print with several phones before the print run.
Wein QR shows the e-label in the language of the device that scans the QR code. A buyer in Italy sees it in Italian, one in Poland in Polish. You maintain the information only once. All 24 official EU languages are included in every plan.
Under “Analytics” you see the scans of all e-labels, per label and per country, for the last 7 and 30 days and in total. The scan is counted, not the person: Wein QR stores no personal data of wine buyers and stores nothing on their phones, no cookies. Visits by search engines and link previews in messengers are not counted.
Under “Billing” you start or change your plan and open the Stripe customer portal for invoices and payment method. You choose the number of brands together with the plan. Switching to a smaller plan is possible as long as your number of e-labels and brands fits the limit. If your plan ends, published e-labels stay online unchanged for another 2 years.
Under “Settings” you enable two-factor authentication with an authenticator app and keep the recovery codes in a safe place. If you delete your account, running subscriptions are ended and all data including images is removed.
